Patron and Ambassador, Mira Dogs

Mira Gabal

Founder, Mira Dogs

There are times in all our lives when we encounter a problem from which we instinctively know we just cannot walk away. This happened to me recently on a trip to Cairo. I visited Mira Gabal at a house in the suburbs of Cairo. A large house on three floors which is home to 650 abandoned domestic pets. Unlike street dogs, these domesticated pets could never survive on the unforgiving streets in Cairo or anywhere else in Egypt. And although the dogs are now safe, we must urgently move them to the more suitable accommodation as soon as possible.

Mira has dedicated herself to rescuing and rehoming these dogs and is in the process of developing a sanctuary on a plot of land just outside Cairo. I have visited the land and can see that she is determined to make this happen but is in desperate need of funds to make this happen fast.

To this end I have become both a Patron and Ambassador for and I ask you please to support us in this vitally important endeavour.

I believe that our compassion defines us all. Any support will be most welcome, and I assure you well spent. Huge thanks, Peter.

Established in 2011

Welcome to Mira Dogs, an animal welfare charity on a mission to rescue and transform the lives of abandoned dogs from the bustling streets of Cairo. Founded by the compassionate visionary Mira Gamal in 2022, our organization has been a beacon of hope for countless canine companions who have faced unimaginable hardships.

In the bustling streets of Cairo, many families find themselves in heartbreaking situations where they can no longer afford to provide for their beloved dogs. Tragically, this has led to a growing population of dogs left to fend for themselves, subjected to abuse, neglect, and, at times, even torture for mere amusement.

Mira Gamar - founder of Mira Dogs

At Mira Dogs, we believe that every dog deserves a second chance at a better life. Our dedicated team of volunteers works tirelessly to rescue these precious animals from the harsh realities of the streets. Upon arrival at our shelter, each dog undergoes a comprehensive health check and receives the necessary vaccinations to ensure their well-being.

We are proud to collaborate with esteemed animal charities like to give these resilient dogs an opportunity to find loving forever homes. Our ultimate goal is to unite these courageous survivors with compassionate families who will provide them with the love and care they deserve.

Join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of Cairo's abandoned dogs. Together, we can create a world where no dog is left behind, and every tail wags with joy.

'These are pampered house dogs that are in no way equipped to deal with the street and in a lot of cases, by the time we reach them, it is too late to save them' Mira Gamal
